Kim Jong Un’s Historic Visit to the Russian Federation
New Delhi : (Arsh News) – As is well known, Kim Jong Un, President of the State Affairs of the
Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, visited the Russian Federation in
September this year, drawing the attention of the international community. And the
significance of his visit is growing with the passage of time.
It is a common view of political analysts that his visit boosted the
DPRK-Russia relationship onto a new higher level.
The two countries have a long tradition of friendship, which was formed on
the common front against Japanese imperialism and has been steadily cemented on
the road to socialism and independence through the generations and the centuries.
Kim Jong Un’s first visit to the Russian Federation in April 2019 was an
epoch-making event which developed the long-standing, close friendship between
the two countries in conformity with the requirements of the new era.
Since then, a great change has taken place in the world, which has highlighted
the strategic importance of the relations between the two countries. This is why
Kim Jong Un chose the Russian Federation as the first place of his foreign visit
after the global public health crisis.
This time Kim Jong Un met President of the Russian Federation Vladimir
Putin at Vostochny Spaceport and visited the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Yuri Gagarin
Aviation Plant, the Knevichi Airbase and the Pacific Fleet base in Vladivostok and
other places, which Russia had seldom showed to foreign heads of state. This
indicates that the traditional relations between the two countries based on
comradely friendship and militant unity have entered a new phase of development.
The Russian side attached the greatest importance to Kim Jong Un’s visit and
had top-ranking military officers including the minister of Defence, a vice minister
of Defence, commander-in-chief of the Navy, commander of the Pacific Fleet and
commander of the Long-range Bomber Force, as well as central and regional
cadres, accompany him. This, too, is unprecedented in the history of visit of foreign
heads of state to the Russian Federation and proves that the relationship between
the two countries is of great strategic importance and it has entered a new phase of
development.
Political analysts are also unanimous that Kim Jong Un’s recent visit provided
a powerful buttress and stronghold of strategic importance for containing the
high-handed and arbitrary actions, military threats and intervention by the
imperialists and defending peace.
The world faces a serious crisis as the United States and other Western
countries are going to extremes in pursuing confrontational bloc-forming policy for
hegemony in all fields of politics, the economy and the military.
With Kim Jong Un’s recent Russia trip as a momentum, the good neighbourly
and friendly relationship between the DPRK and the Russian Federation has
greeted a new phase of rapid development, ensuring equilibrium in the international
dynamic structure and considerably improving the global strategic security
environment.
The United States and its vassal forces are nervous about the development of
the DPRK-Russia relations and bent on slandering the consolidation of unity and
solidarity among anti-imperialist and independent sovereign states. This is an
acknowledgement that their policy of pursuing hegemony has encountered
enormous challenges and they fear the united strength of the anti-imperialist,
independent countries most. The renewed development of the DPRK-Russia
relations proves that the key to defending global peace and security and realizing
international justice is to bring together all the anti-imperialist, independent
countries.
